It's been so long since last we met
Egads! As I count it, it's been more than two fortnights since last we spoke. Life has been busy. Without getting too long-winded, here are recent interesting occurrences:
-- I've been deemed ethical by the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (even more ethical than necessary to practice in NY).
-- Today's word of the day is so excellent that I have to share it: avoirdupois.
-- Lewis Lapham finally got the long-awaited, proverbial 'gas face' from Slate recently. (Christian, must discuss when you return to N. America.)
-- Finally, the NYT has this op-ed on global tax. Tax is in the headlines a lot these days-- perhaps because it's such a fascinating area. (A slight quibble with the op-ed, wouldn't IRC Section 482 take care of the 'abusive' price charged by the Irish subsidiary to its American parent? Share your thoughts.)
-- Tonight, I go to see Varekai.
